Hydrology custom waypoint symbols for Garmin GPS
Below is a list of waypoint symbols (shown enlarged) that were developed by M.J. Waterloo for use in hydrological field studies. To install on your GPS download the individual waypoint symbol by clicking on the simbol image, or download a compressed custom_hydrology_waypoint_symbols.zip file and extract all .bmp images in a folder of choice. To install the waypoint symbols on your GPS, connect your Garmin GPS (Etrex, other) to your computer and use the Garmin xImage program to install the waypoints on your GPS. For displaying these symbols in Mapsource, download the compressed mapsource_custom_hydrology_waypoint_symbols.zip file and install the *.BMP files in the folder C:\Documents and Settings\[your_username]\My Documents\My Garmin\Custom Waypoint Symbols folder. These custom hydrology waypoints will then be available in mapsource.

Map of Field course Hydrology (Portugal) area
Students who participate in the Field course Hydrology (Portugal) can download a detailed road map for use on their Garmin GPS. Install this gmapsupp.img file in the ./garmin directory of the micro-SD card in the Garmin GPS and if necessary, select the map in the Garmin setup.
